LORDS OF THE STONE (HOLLAND)

LORDS OF THE STONE, noted for their debut album inclusion of ex-THE GATHERING female vocalist Martine Van Loon, were founded in 1992 releasing their first demo tape titled 'Rhymes Of Bitterness' the same year. The band line up at this juncture comprised vocalists Inga De Haas and Andre Dijkstra, GOD DETHRONED guitarist Henri Sattler, bass player Evert Jepma and GOD DETHRONED drummer Ard de Weerd. Martine van Loon was inducted as vocalist in 1994. Tracks on a compilation album followed quickly capitalized on by a further demo, 'Diamond In The Dust'. A track from these sessions, 'Fire In The Winter', was released by Displeased Records as one half of a split 7” single with CELESTIAL SEASON. The following year Arjan van der Logt took over bass duties and Henk Van-Barneveld became keyboard player. In 1996 LORDS OF THE STONE cut a third demo, 'In An Eyelid's Fall', which led to an album deal with Massacre Records. A completely new look band had Dijkstra and Van Loon fronting up a fresh cast of musicians comprising guitarist Roel Dijkstra, bassist Sandra De Wys, GOD DETHRONED keyboard player Danny Servaes and drummer Wichard Visscher.
